About Hollins
A comprehensive public high school on the north side of St. Petersburg, part of Pinellas County Schools.

To be the best public high school in the state of Florida by developing leaders for careers and jobs not yet imagined.
History
The school opened in 1959, initially serving grades 10 to 12, and is named for a long serving Pinellas County superintendent. It sits on 62nd Street North on the north side of St. Petersburg and today enrolls about 1,975 students across grades 9 to 12.
In 2020 the school board voted to shorten the name to Hollins High School, and the athletic teams, formerly the Rebels, became the Royals. The crest and the royal blue that runs through this site date from that change.
School calendar
Term dates, early release days and holidays follow the Pinellas County Schools calendar, with school specific events added by the front office. Athletics fixtures are listed separately on the athletics page.
Bell schedule
Hollins runs a seven period day. The current schedule is published as a single sheet covering regular days, early release and exam days.

Reporting an absence
Absences should be reported to the front office on the day, by telephone on (727) 547-7876. A note explaining the absence is required when the student returns.
Leadership
Administration
The school is led by a principal and four assistant principals, who divide responsibility for curriculum, magnet programs, athletics and departmental supervision.
Principal
Candice Metcalf
Began teaching in 2012 in Hillsborough County as an English and ESE teacher, and moved into school leadership before taking up the principalship at Hollins. Holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida and a master's and specialist degree from the University of West Florida.

Nicole Holcombe
A Pinellas County Schools graduate who joined the district in 2001 and has served at Hollins since 2018. Supervises the science department.

Nathan Lovelette
In his twenty sixth year in Florida public education. Oversees the magnet programs, including the Academy of Entertainment Arts, the Academy of Culinary Arts and Cambridge, together with athletics.

Dr. Lindsay Rodgers
Entered teaching in 2006 and previously led schools in Pennsylvania before joining Pinellas County Schools in 2022. Holds a doctorate in educational management and leadership.
